20. White World Under Threat?

The White World is shifting to the Right. Under the guise of shifting demographics. The white majority is under threat with a loss of power and dominance in Western democracies. Rather than siding with Liberalism they side with the Populist vote supporting their own power base.

A struggle between Liberalism and Illiberalism ensues. The argument is that White has to move Right to protect itself against the conspiracy of a rising non white minority. The deadly myth of the Great Replacement. Instead of a replacement it might be a drive to to a world of more anti liberal values.

But there is no evidence of anti white conspiracy. Except the fear that if you become a minority you will automatically lose power to the majority.

There is no evidence that more subtle forms of anti-white discrimination are on the rise. No minority has become the majority and created anti-white practices, as the white majority does. In fact reducing discrimination increases opportunitites for discriminated against whites. White people have always attacked other White people.

These political arguments can explain what is happening. But it is the emotion of Threat and Fear that dominate. Like water running down a hill. Fear seeks the shortest route. It doesn’t want understanding or reason. It wants to disapate through action.
In this case the action of Populism. Sharp, Short, & Direct.

18. Janet Malcolm Maverick

Janet Malcolm was a journalist, writer, & explorer of words.
Her most famous quote:
“Every journalist who is not too stupid or too full of himself to notice what is going on knows that what he does is morally indefensible”.

Her writing on Psychoanalysis was the recording of an emergence, and awareness of words rather than a questioning. Suiting the writing about Psychonanalysis.

Her writing about the Psychoanalytic Profession in New York is an exercise of an acute mind picking up the humanaity and fraility of practititoners. The description of the heirarchy and how practitioners train, and find work shows how the profession is like any other. Competitive, back biting, and petty.

Going along with Freud’s own advertising of his creation: the outcome was a transforming of neurotic misery to common unhappiness. The writing uncovers a limited humanity of intention over outcome. Rather a reduction of misery, than a furthering of happiness.
Janet Malcolm July 8th 1934 – June 16th 2021

17. Buy an NFT Now!

NFT (nonfungible token) is a token that can be swapped or exchanged – it is a unit of value unto itself. It’s currency on the blockchain.

Typically it used to sell art, or one off creations that artists sell. Anyone can copy and sell the art but the artist retains the original token.

Perhaps an old car print or a digital picture of one of your pieces of art. Like a shared databse it is backed up by computers all over the world. So difficult to defraud.

Some think this is a bubble ready to burst. Others a form of currency that is here to stay. Humans have always swapped and bartered whatever they need. But is this what we need?

16. Right Place Wrong time

We all have times mainly in hindsight that our lives changed direction on a whim, chance, luck, right or wrong decision. Regret, relief or a recognition that we were very lucky that these things happened to us, and why we are here now.

Accidents, death, trauma are also turning points in our lives. We all have them. What separates us is the way we deal and work through these points in our lives. Whether the wounds become infected and constant care to be avoided. Or be allowed to scar leaving the signs on us of a lived life.

Or rarely that a seemingly personal mundane decision goes onto to have international ramifications. Such a man is Christopher Martin. Not the musician but the man who worked as a cashier and was given a $20 counterfeit note by George Floyd.

This set off a chain of events that Mr Martin could not have predicted. Ordinary people doing ordinary things, setting off extraordinary events.
Then the emotions grown out of the extraordinary event overwhelming the person. A test of mental strength and resilience. Infected wound or scar?

15. Dirty Laundry Social Media

Everyone is doing it. Talking about deep personal issues to the world. There seems to be no limts about what you can say to a huge audience, and then have it commented on by the world.

And it has always been. In the pre digital age TV, newspapers, & books were used to tell your personal story. And then there’s the money.

But what do they want? To be heard? To be agreed with? To be criticised? To be flattered? To be right? To gain attention?

What is not desired is the hard painful work to process feelings! To sit with yourself or guidance from another, and be present with your fear and pain.

Why bother when you can find instant gratification by telling the world your issues? Then wait for the compliments and support from far away strangers. A quick fix. But at depth nothing changed. So you have to do it again. and again ….

You are the expert on you. You might need some help to recognise this. But it is true. Nobody else has led your life or felt your pain except you.

And then speaking to people about yourself becomes a bonus. Not the main event. Being your own expert means you can work yourself out with the help of friends and family. BUT .. you do the bulk of the work yourself. Alone on your own.

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, and-in spite of True Romance magazines-we shall all someday look back on our lives, and see that, in spite of our company we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely-at least, not all the time-but essentially and finally alone. This is what makes your self respect so important, and I don’t see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”
Hunter S. Thompson

14. Chinese Titanic Survivors

Six chinese men survived the sinking of the Titanic. Never heard of them?
This was not the end of their voyage. After arriving at immigration on Ellis Island they were expelled from the US under the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882.

These Chinese men were portrayed by the press as stowaways, or who disguised themselves as women to get onto the life boats. Both untrue. They were sent to Cuba, then onto the UK, where they settled and had families. Again they had to leave due to anti immigrant feelings.

They dispersed to HongKong, India, Canada, and the US! Due to the trauma and stigma surrounding the sinking their own families & children knew nothing about their experiences.

It is pertinent now as History repeats itself with the recent exclusion of immigrants from the US, Windrush and Grenfell in the UK. The politics of immigration, discrimination, and exclusion remains.

13. Funeral of the Decade

The death of the Duke of Edinburgh precipitated massive media coverage. And the highest number of complaints about the amount of media coverage it received.

Then the State Funeral. What the British do best? Apparently the Duke wanted no fuss. To some the Royal Family is very British and reflects our tradition and history. To others anachronistic, feudal, lacking modernity.

It seems the Royals personify something that is lost. A Whiteness, a Britishness, a sense of honesty and duty. Even though this is undermined by the behaviour of some Royals the older Royals still hold this perception, and way of life.

Whiteness is under scrutiny. The antedote is to hang onto the history where the perception was everything was more of a mono culture? For some A loss. A bereavement. Something to harken back to, to be revered. A Brexit Expression of anger and a wish to return to a Past of Rule Britannia.

The rise and decline of Nation States, Cultures, Peoples particularly with a loss of Power is challenging. The decline of power is painful and frightening. Depending on your perception it can be seen as an opportunity or a threat.

This point in the 21st Century is a period of transition. As all times are transitional. But maybe more at this point in time. Or do we all think we are in an important period of transition? We appear to be running out of road. The destruction of the Planet, the Pandemic, and Democracy means that we cannot carry on as we are.

But then what do we do? Do we want to be told? A Cure? A Magic Pill? We all have uncertainty? But what now?

12. Perfect Shamelessness

As though we didn’t know this. Just more evidence. Eton College educates the ruling class to perfect their shamelessness. The constant competition where the rival has to be destroyed. The lads untouchable to the usual moral codes that everyone else has to follow.

Trained up in debating societies and quiz shows. Practiced and willing for their role in Parliament. No pity for the less intelligent, less capable or poor. Talking and defending policies which trash funding of local communities, projects and the NHS. Protected from poverty, recessions, and the up and downs of the economy.

Notice that they are already schooled in shamelessness. They don’t learn it at Eton. They come shamelessness baked! They are born to it. Entitlement Wealth Priviledge. It is not even communicated. It just is.

We are immersed in our childhoods. We have no choice. It is a well meaning brainwashing if we are lucky. We know no different. We are blind to our upbringings. So it is no surprise that they arrive shamelessness.

11. Need a Tradesman?

One of the professions that epitomises the Time is Money adage must be the Building Trade.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is image.jpeg

One man bands. Quoting and making estimates for jobs unpaid. The travel. The parking. Needing funds upfront to purchase materials. The getting to the job, starting and then seeing its not the job it looked like from the outside. More expense to negotiate with the customer. Working in all weathers. Cash v Income. Dealing with complaints. Spinning plates. Running. On the run. Stress. Stress.

The customer. Ignorant to what needs to be done. Everyone saying something different. Wildly differing quotes. Some wanting to do only part of the job. Or in a particular way. Not knowing when they are going to start. Wanting the customer to immediately go to the case machine or shop for materials. Not producing invoices. Not picking up discarded materials. Making a mess. Stress. Stress.

Unregulated, at times under educated but skilled men dealing with all sorts. Issues of Class, Education, Income, Resources, Opportunity all rolled into a transaction about the precious place where people live.

The eternal task of making agreements with strangers who demand large sums of money for skilled services. A relationship of trust. Love and Hate. Anger and Pleasure. The Making and Breaking of Affectionate Bonds.
